Well, we’re 19 weeks along now (as of this past Sunday). We’ve been doing the Doppler thing pretty much every night now, and it’s getting easier to find Red’s heartbeat. I can pretty much put the wand down on Jessica’s stomach and immediately hear the heartbeat.

PregancyWeekly.com (the site Jessica uses on a regular basis) says the following about the pregnancy:

This is day number 135 and you’re 19 weeks pregnant!
You have 145 days or 21 weeks left, and are 47.5% of the way there.
Baby’s age since conception is 121 days or 17 weeks. You are due on 4/22/2007.
Your baby weighs approximately 7 ounces and is about 5.2 to 6 inches from crown to rump. The exterior layers of skin tissue are developing to form your baby’s one-of-a-kind fingerprints. The amniotic fluid that surrounds your baby allows for the free movement of the arms and legs and is also sometimes swallowed to practice digestion..

I was telling Jessica the other night that the weeks have flown by since we completed the first trimester (however, she doesn’t think so). But after reading that info from PregnancyWeekly.com, I’m kind of shocked to see that we’re days away from being half way there. I mean, it seemed like an eternity waiting for that 12th week to come, but since then the time has gone by quickly.

I’ve been trying to convince Jessica of a new name if we have a boy. That new name is “Brady”. She doesn’t really like it, but she likes “Lincoln”. I don’t really like Lincoln, although I think it would make a decent middle name. So she has compromised and come up with Brady Lincoln Adams. I’m not sure about that particular name combination, but I definitely like Brady. Jessica’s dad recommended “Lincoln Alexander”, which sounds pretty classy, but I’m pretty much sold on “Brady something”. It’s been in the back of my head for a few years now, but I’ve never told her about it. We’ll see how that goes, but in the meantime, opinions are welcome! Leave a comment and let us know what you think!

In other news, I’m now giving Jessica her shots. I have a needle phobia, however I’ve been able to get past it in order to spare Jessica from having to give herself shots in her bruised-up stomach. I actually have to sort of mentally prepare myself to give her the shot. Last week she came into church and told me she needed her shot and I was just about to go out onto the stage to play the guitar, so I was not mentally ready to give her the shot, and I didn’t have time to psych myself up about it. When I gave her that shot, I was unable to ignore the actual feeling of the needle piercing her skin, and it kind of made me feel light-headed and “out of sorts”. I didn’t pass out or anything, but I probably wasn’t far from it.

And my last thing to say is that I went shopping on Black Friday with Jessica and Lisa (Jessica’s friend who is pregnant with triplets) and I spent most of my time sitting/sleeping in the mall while they spent most of their time in baby-clothing stores such as Gymboree, Baby Gap, Old Navy, etc. I hate to say it, but these pregnant women actually outlasted me! However, it’s worth noting that they both slept and snored all the way home from Cincinnati.

You all had asked for suggestions before on names for the baby. I think you should forget the Lincoln, Alexander, Brady and all that sophisticated stuff and give it a Biblical name for God blessing you after all this time with this child. Just my suggestion.

Well, we’ve considered Biblical names as you can see in the post on here that Jessica did called “Suggestions”. We have been considering “James”, which is biblical, and “David” which is biblical. We didn’t post them on here, but we even considered “Paul”, “Samuel”, and some other really weird names that Jessica threw out there. Trust me, a Biblical name was the first thing I thought of when I considered that we might have a boy. I’m all for Biblical names, but I like the name Brady, and I feel like that’s the perfect name for a boy, if we have one. We still have 4.5 months left, so I’m sure we’ll go through a bunch of other names between now and then, so a Biblical name is still a possibility.
